Once students enter the school yard they will head to their designated area where they are supervised.
*We recommend students come to school as close to 9:15 am as possible*
9:15am - 9:45am “Outdoor Play”
* Weather-permitting; Dress appropriately for outdoor play.
9:45am - 11:45am “Classroom Learning Block”
Remove outdoor clothing and wash their hands

- Book or lesson to guide the day's play or enhance previous learning
Learning through play (Exploration Through Play - Learning areas; very-open ended)
- Educators extend, challenge and help to consolidate learning
- Whole curriculum addressed
- Student-led
- Inquiries vary from week to week, and are not always whole-group
Snack - Wash hands; Snack mid-morning (The year begins with scheduled whole-group snack but progresses to open snack - Students receive reminders and guidance to choose their snacks
Tidy up time - Get ready for outdoor play
11:45am -12:20pm “Outdoor Play”
* Weather-permitting; Dress appropriately for outdoor play.
12:20pm -1:00pm “Lunch”
-Wash hands immediately after coming in
-Prayer, Eat lunch, pack up, wash hands and get quiet time blanket
1:00pm-1:30pm “Rest Time”
-Lay down for 30 min in designated spot (Please avoid picking up your child during this time unless necessary) Students rest with quiet music and low-lighting to rejuvenate their minds and bodies
1:30pm -3:00pm “Classroom Learning Block”
-Put blankets away
-DPA (daily physical activity)
-Whole group learning
-Wash hands
-Learning through play time
- Wash hands; Snack mid-afternoon
3:00pm-3:15pm “End of day”
- Dismissal routines
- Pack up for outdoors and/or home time
3:40pm “Dismissal”
**For the first couple of weeks we will be dismissing students as early as 3:35 to help alleviate traffic flow
Important Reminders:
- Please label all personal belongings, including containers and outerwear. Several students have the same backpacks and lunch containers.
- As the cooler weather approaches, please send your child with all necessary outerwear, including splash/snow pants and hats/mittens for chillier days/mornings. Spare mittens may be kept in their bags or cubby in the event that they become wet). You may also wish to send in spare socks. Please label all outerwear.
- Please check mailbags, empty and return them daily.
- Blankets are sent home on Fridays to be washed/returned. Yoga mats are sent home periodically and upon request.
